Children and Worship

Children & Worship
Ages 3-1st grade

Children & Worship during the sermon (August-June): 3-year-olds - 1st grade
Location: Lower level next to the Nursery.
Children return to their parents/guardians during the closing song.

Activities are developed around the order of worship:

  1. Assemble in God's name
  2. Proclaim God's Word
  3. Give thanks to God
  4. Go in God's name

Lessons include parables, Old Testament passages and other stories that highlight parts of the liturgical year.

The curriculum used relies on Maria Montessori and Sofia Cavalletti's methods ("Young Children and Worship" written by Sonja M. Stewart and Jerome W. Berryman).
